NBA All-Mormon Team

Under 0.245% of all NBA players self identify as members of the Mormon church. Given this small sample, can you put together a reasonable LDS starting five?

Power Forward

Tom Chambers

Even though he spent his career as a journeyman (seven teams over a seventeen year career), Chambers was a star during his time in the league. He averaged 18.1 points and 6.4 rebounds over his career, once putting up numbers as high as 27.2 PPG for Phoenix in 1990. Chambers received All-NBA honors twice and won the 1987 All-Star Game MVP. He has since been inducted to the Suns’ Ring of Honor as well as both the Utah and Arizona Sports Hall of Fames.

Chambers attended the University of Utah after being raised just 40 minutes from the campus. Little information is available about Chambers’ commitment to the LDS Church, although multiple Mormon-friendly sites claim him as one of their own.
